Methods Used to Form Stainless Steel Projects

Are you trying to engineer your new part or product but struggling to understand how it should be made? There is more than one way to form your stainless steel product, and it is important to choose the best method for your purposes. The two methods that we use to form stainless steel projects are the press brake method and laser cutting.

Press Brake

The press brake is the traditional method of sheet metal forming. With a press brake, the sheet metal is formed in a V, U, or channel-shaped punch and die set. A punch and die works by the die supporting the sheet metal, while the punch creates the correct shape. Press brake is the appropriate method for most types of sheet metal fabrication. Computers now aid the process, which allows for more precise tooling. Continue reading Methods Used to Form Stainless Steel Projects

Celebrating 15 Years of Metal Fabrication Services

We are so excited about our recent milestone. As of August 1st, we have been offering the highest quality on-shore metal fabrication services in the Houston area for 15 years. We have worked tirelessly to advocate bringing manufacturing back home (called reshoring), and we will continue to bring jobs back to Texas.

Even though we’ve been around a long time, we offer cutting-edge technology.

Jacob Melton, owner of Amtex Precision, has been in the industry since 2005, and this company was his vision of how metal fabrication should be. Even though we still maintain those traditional values, we also embrace new technologies and work hard to stay on top of new trends. What Is Manufacturing Reshoring?

The quick answer to this question is that manufacturing reshoring is the practice of bringing manufacturing back to the United States. You see, manufacturing processes have long been offshored to other countries, most notably China. Now, law- and policymakers are making an effort to bring these processes and jobs back to our shores. Here are some other questions you might have.

How did this happen?

When global trade first opened up, it didn’t take long for corporations to learn that they could save money by offshoring manufacturing and other services to China. They were able to save on: Continue reading What Is Manufacturing Reshoring?

The Benefits of Stainless Steel Fabrication

You have a choice in metals when fabricating your equipment or prototype, just as you have a choice in metal fabricators. You have to evaluate the pros and cons to make the best decision for your organization. When it comes to metals, you can’t do much better than stainless steel or most projects. Here are some of the benefits.

Resistant to Corrosion

Stainless steel is very resistant to corrosion, which means you don’t have to worry about what comes into contact with your end product. Water can sit on it, and it will not rust. Continue reading The Benefits of Stainless Steel Fabrication

Applications for Sheet Metal Fabrication

How much sheet metal is in your home or office? You probably don’t realize just how much sheet metal you run across in your daily life. There are many different applications for sheet metal fabrication, although we do not serve all of them. Here are some of our most common applications for sheet metal fabrication.

Stainless Steel Components

Sheet metal fabrication is often used to create components of equipment or products. Anytime sheet metal is manipulated into a usable product, part, component, or tool, it is done through metal fabrication techniques. A few of the applications for stainless steel components include: Continue reading Applications for Sheet Metal Fabrication

The Difference Between Metal Fabrication and Machining

If you are a purchasing agent, business owner, or innovator, your knowledge is in the capabilities a product needs to have for your business success. You probably don’t have knowledge in the engineering, design, fabrication, and machining that might be necessary to create the end product.

It is our job to take the guesswork out of your project, but it can also be helpful to understand some of the terminology. Some of the things that many people confuse are metal fabrication and machining. Some people think these are the same, but they are distinctly different. What to Look for in a Quality Metal Fabrication Service

Any welding metal fabricator working out of a small shop can promise effective solutions for your products and equipment. But if you want to have solutions that will last for decades and make your operation more efficient and successful, you need to carefully choose a quality metal fabrication service. Here is what you should look for before choosing a metal fabrication partner.

Specialized Experience

Metal fabricators often have at least some experience, but it may not be in the same type of fabrication projects as what you have in mind. If you need a specific type of metal fabrication or if you are working within a particular industry, it is important that your metal fabricator has experience in that field rather than just in fabrication generally. Continue reading What to Look for in a Quality Metal Fabrication Service

Industries that Commonly Require Metal Fabrication

Metal fabrication in general is used in almost every industry. Any industry or application that makes use of tools, machinery, or equipment technically uses metal fabrication, although these industries do not frequently need unique solutions. The metal fabrication services that we offer allow you to create the perfect piece of equipment or machinery to meet your needs. Here are some of the industries that need these services.

Alternative Energy

Whether you are developing a product that will use alternative energy or you are developing a manufacturing technique that will use alternative energy sources, we can fabricate the equipment and tools you need to make it happen. We can also create machinery for generating alternative energy, such as custom solar equipment. Continue reading Industries that Commonly Require Metal Fabrication

Interview with Martin, Intern

Martin is a valuable member of our intern team. He is passionate about hobbies and projects that involve working with his hands, such as welding. Here is more information about Martin and what he has to bring to the table.
